Factory Dressed via contamination free single point diamond chiselling. Comes in a storage box.
These are the Dr. Marv’s Scientific Sharpening Stones. They have an unheard of concentration and are absurdly pure and contamination free. This was achieved by very tight, electron microscopy quality control, followed by manufacturing in a laminar flow box. Dressing is done via single point diamond chiseling, which also stops any contamination. Moreover, every set is diamond chiseled individually in the same fixture, so the stones are very, very close in their thickness. I personally do not feel the need to adjust the angle when switching from one stone to the next.
Their development is based on my scientific research into abrasives. I firmly believe that these are super high performing abrasives!
I am very proud to say that the resin, filament, foam, chemicals and aluminium are Made in Germany. Machining of the aluminium blanks was done in Germany. Only the diamond is imported, but meticulously quality controlled via SEM. I am absurdly proud to state that all abrasive stones are handmade by me in the German Alps.
As this is a handmade product, some small blemishes such as tiny bubbles, scratches or imperfections are to be expected. I can promise that they do not subtract from the performance of the sharpening stones!

This my second set of Dr Marv’s stones. The grit range is 9k, 14k & 60k so they are finishing & polishing stones. I have used them on Rex121 on the hard end to White 1 & 2 and stainless steel on the other. These stones produce mirror edges effortlessly. They are on the firm side but magically leave almost no scratches. After a few strokes the edge glimmers and shines being devoid of any visible marks. With a diamond concentration of 40% they showed almost no wear after 10 knives and during use were extremely slow to load up. I couldn’t be more pleased with their performance. These are revolutionary stones well worth the price given you will never wear them out. I can not recommend these stones any higher, you won’t regret purchasing these life long friends.

Achieving a mirror finish has become significantly quicker with these stones, something that has always taken a chunk of time with stone and strop progression. I’ve also been using the .5 to do stropping and the results I’m getting from that are crazy, and producing some of the sharpest edges I’ve managed to do. Due to the extremely high manufacturing standard, there is little to worry about with grit contamination and thus no stray scratches appearing at the very end of a polishing job. I’ve added in all three of these stones to my rotation for finishing and polishing and I’d recommend them to anyone who is seeking stones in this grit range.

Medium grit set removes most of scratches fast and sets up the fine base for true polish. Not by burnishing, with clean cuts.
I’ll over simplify the verdict
1. More Diamond is better.
2. Conventionally, make extrime high concentration was impossible without shedding issue.
3. Dr. Marv’s stones have most high concentration in the market, and actually works.
How and Why is secret (but Dr. Marv exactly knows every details and most of those are extremely valuable trade secret), but you can easily feel it with your own hands and eyes after use them.
It’s stone, but gemstone.
