Size of the Aluminium Blank: 159 x 25 mm x 3 mm

Size of the Abrasive Layer: 150×25 + At least 2 mm (300 µm) and 4 mm thickness (150 µm)

Diamond Concentration: >65% by weight!

Do note: Both stones will shed a small layer on first use. This is normal and expected behaviour. Both stones will loose the occasional grit while sharpening – every diamond stone does this, but on this one this is noticed much more easily as the grains are so large. Comparative testing with other coarse grained stones showed less grain loss. Just make sure that your first knife is not your best one for this – and go slowly, because these beasts really remove material!

This is meant as a rework set – setting the angle or even creating a bevel! To give you some sense of the speed, here are some things I tried:
150 micron stone: 1 min per side to get from beltground finish to 17DPS apex on REX121
300 micron stone: 2 min on M398 (65 HRC) to change bevel angle from 17.5° to 17°
300 micron stone: complete rework of the edge of a Civivi Sendy in Nitro V (60 HRC) in < 2 min

While these set the angle – they also create significantly less damage to matrix and apex of a blade. Real, true cutting diamond performance, and no fillers or binder that creates too much pressure.

These are the “Dr. Marv’s Scientific Sharpening Stones”. They have an unheard of concentration and are absurdly pure and contamination free. This was achieved by very tight, electron microscopy quality control, followed by manufacturing in a laminar flow box. Dressing is done via single point diamond chiseling, which also stops any contamination.

Their development is based on my scientific research into abrasives. I firmly believe that these are super high performing abrasives!

I am very proud to say that the resin, filament, foam, chemicals and aluminium are Made in Germany. Machining of the aluminium blanks was done in Germany. The cases are 3D printed by myself and the foam is also laser cut and engraved by me. Only the diamond is imported, but meticulously quality controlled via SEM. I am absurdly proud to state that all abrasive stones are handmade by me in the German Alps.

As this is a handmade product, some small blemishes such as tiny bubbles, scratches or imperfections are to be expected. I can promise that they do not subtract from the performance of the sharpening stones!
